For those that have pulled the starter to replace the contacts, etc... take a look to see if the bolts are tight.

I had noticed I lost the bottom most one, well I found today that the starter was about ready to fall off! The top most bolt was almost all the way out too, and the other bolt was loose too.

I'm not sure how the starter wasn't making bad noises?!

I put lock tite on them this time, hopefull that will hold them in place. I replaced the contacts this spring and I know I put the bolts fairly tight.

i found that mine was working out earler this year and i was having problems with it not wanting to start. It must play a grounding role also.

Yeah it does. One of the bolts I put back in was only about 3/4 of the actual size toward the top from arching, so I guess the start has been loose for quite some time.

The reason I noticied is I had the fuel filter canister off and I happened to look down and there was like 3/8" from the starter to the engine.
