Computer Junkies - Socket 423 or 478 ? Explain?

I was talking to a friend of mine in NYC. I was shocked when he told me there are military checkpoints all over NY, with long delays in getting anywhere you need to go. Nobody there seems to know exactly what they are checking for. If anyubody else out there knows about checkpoints I would be very curious to know. They may just be in NY but I am curious.

checkpoints

Yes there are lots of checkpoints around the country. The FBI has discovered that those related in the terrorist organizations in this country have obtained permits to transport hazardous cargo. The only cargo these guys want to haul are bombs and bomb making materials. Everyone in the country is looking very closely for bombs and chemicals. Also, in the rural areas, the cropdusters have been restricted as the authorities are afraid that biological agents may be spread into lakes, drinking supplies, or on the general population.

AMERICA BE AWARE!!!

I work in NYC and go there every day. At first there were check points at the tunnels and bridges. They are getting to be less. Last week they decided that no vehicles con come into Manhattan from 6:00 AM to noow with one pasenger. This has slowed things up a lot. They are saying that the latter has nothing to do with the terrorist attack, thye say it was in the works anyway.

There is / was also a checkpoint at the garage where I used to park. I'm leaving the truck in NJ for a while. It's just faster in a bus.
