I usually dont post things like this, but I just have to know if any others experience some weird problems, some of which are of little significance.

1. ) Seat belt buckle always twists on the strap? Hard to get adjust properly again.

2. )Security light flashes or stays on randomly sometimes 5,000 miles between flashes.

3. )Sometime heater screams like a small animal is stuck in it? Done this twice randomly, stop to fuel up cycle the key and it quits?

4. )Truck cycles constantly at idle, does not matter if a/c or heater is on or off?

5. )I know this has been discussed but I have to put it here. The overhead display sometime reads -------.

I am sure there is more, but these are cheezy things that drive me nuts and i want to make sure its not just my truck!

Only have 1600 miles on my truck, but figured I'll give some input

1) Noticed the same too, but on the passenger side. Haven't yet figured out how to bring up the subject with the girlfriend yet since I usually do the same in her Grand Am car...

2) Don't have a security system - yet;

3) Haven't noticed this, but got this annoying dashboard squeak that ended up being my sunglasses case bouncing in the cubbyhole that has the "Dr. Scholl's looking footpad soft-tread lining". Took me 2 hours yesterday driving down the interstate to find this! Squeaked everytime I drove over an expansion joint.

4) I got this too - it sounds like the rpm's intermittently increase then decrease, but the tach doesn't show any change in rpm's. My old Ford pickup did this too, except on "vent" when the A/C compressor wasn't cycling on/off (per owner's manual write-up). Does the same thing happen on the '03s?

5) Nothing weird on the display yet.

An interesting, non-annoying thing I found yesterday was that the driver's side carpet has a plastic hook in it to prevent the floor mat from moving around. Gotta love those height adjustable seatbelts and sliding sunvisors too!

My Dad's and a Friends D-Max does the Idle up/down thing also.

Maybe it's a HPCR thing ?

On the D-Max's I think it's the timing changing, I haven't heard anm '03 Dodge yet...

My $. 02

I heard the idle change for the first time, yesterday. I wondered if it wasn't the heater grid kicking on and off and the engine controls compensating for the change in load. Seemed more rapid than my old truck, and I didn't see the draw on the voltage guage either.

The overhead readout did the ------ thing on me too, but never again so far.

I hear the noise when the glow plugs kick off before I start it up. It lets me know when to turn the key.

I fight with all seat belts in all of things I drive, could be me.

I don't mind that the ac compressor kicks on and off when not in use. it keeps everything lubed up. I don't use it much. Love that wind blowing. and I can hear the turbo wine better with the windows down.

Greg

2200 miles and I haven't had any of the above, but my overhead outside temp is about 5 degrees off (high).

Annoying little things

Well, my truck has leaked through the roof clearance lights - AFTER the dealer's "leak guy" fixed them. I had a fan inside the dash decide it wanted to make a lot of noise - but only once. And my overhead computer gave me dashes yesterday and today - rebooting the truck fixed that - makes you wonder if DC subcontracted the mileage computer to Microsoft - ohmigod, you don't think our trucks are running Windows, do ya? :--)

Oh, and everytime I open the door I get snow all over the seats. That said, my truck will go anywhere I point it with no complaints, it looks better'n anything on the road, and the big Cummins beats the heck out of any other possible engine - anybody for a new 6. 0 PoSD? :D

But an 03 doesn't have glow plugs. It has a grid heater instead.

I think what your hearing is the grid heaters cycling, the V meter doesn't show this because it doesn't respond until you get to about 15 mph. I think this keeps people from calling the dealer to ask whats wrong when they see the voltage changing.

Only number five for me, has done it twice in 3000 miles. Restart clears it same as everyone else. Soon we will have to plug these vehicles into a network and run monthly upgrades... . and yeah, the seatbelts do tangle more easily. They are making the webbing thinner. Oops, I mean more flexible... .

None of the above. My horns went sick and sounded more like a lamb than a ram. Dealer ordered a couple of new ones. I love this truck:D .

None of the above listed issues. The thing I get is a small faint rattling on the passenger side while driving. Can't pinpoint, as I'm ususally the only one in the truck.

The A/C compressor sometimes makes a clunck when it comes on when not used for a few days. My 2000 did that too.

My truck has over 11,000 miles of commute driving and has not given me any problems. I do get a little squeak from the dash on the highway but feel it (the chance of messing up more than gets fixed) isn't worth the repair. This truck starts great in cold temps, is great on fuel and has all the power I've needed.
