Chevy Avalanche 2500 ??????

What engine options did GM offer in their Av's 2500(3/4 ton) from about 01-04?? All I can seem to find in the 2500 Av's is 8. 1 liter. Was there a small engine option? This questions is a work related question at our shop, as to which parts are available. I am not switching sides!!

AFAIK the 8. 1L was the only option in the 3/4 ton Avalanche. My parents have one.

Thanks Steve. The only data I can find on the internet shows that engine (8. 1) is the only one availale in the 2500.
