I have posted this a while back with no real response. Do any of you guys with early 2nd gen. have a chirp when you lock or unlock your doors? I do not have the factory alarm but was told that you could activate the chirp if you wanted. The dealer knew nothing about this of course so any help would be appreciated.

I don't know about the early 2nd gens, but on my 2001, the owners manual described how to program the key fobs again, and that with the the key-on when you do it, it chirps, and key-off when it programs, it doesn't. Look there first.

With door-unlock-lock only (no factory alarm), your system may not even be connected to the horn to activate it, so you may not have that option.

My '99 used to beep the horn when I locked the with the key fob. It has a factory alarm. It is in the owners manual like ntillm01 stated. That is where I found the info to deactivate the horn going off when I lock/unlock the doors. Didn't want the attention. Hope this helps.

My 98. 5 does chirp and has factory keyless entry. If your vehicle has a flashing indicator lamp for the alarm or keyless entry system that is from MOPAR accessories and the horn chirp is programmable. If have your last 8 digits of V. I. N. I can tell you if your truck was equipped from the factory with it.
