Anyone's chrome grill whatchamacallit bubbling up? Mine has two small bubbles, maybe just from wear and age (99).

If so, what did you do about it? I was thinking sandblast it and paint it gloss red to match my truck...

Thanks!

Same thing happened to mine on a day that it got to -12. Mine is very bad and I can't wait till warmer weather so I can paint it green to match the truck! (cheapest way to fix it)

Krylon plastic paint seems to work well.

One thing that I have noticed is that if you get a little too vigorous with the pressure washer, any little pin prick holes in the chrome plating from the road debris will let the water undermine it and bubble it up. Then you get chemicals and salt in there and it's like plastic rust.

I found some brand new grills here in Utah for very cheap, if you want to e-mail me I will give you the price. These grills do not have ramhead in them.

Mine is also bubbling. Mine was caused by driving through a hail storm a few years back. I haven't done anything to it yet.

I can relate with the grille bubble, mine did it after getting a stone thrown up from the highway by a passing vehicle, been bubbled ever since.

Been there, going back again.........

My original grill bubled and was replaced under warranty. Now at 192,000 the second one is bubbling also. Don't think they will cover it! What is the info on the above mentioned grills at a good price?

Do a search on eBay. The aftermarket grilles don't have the same level of fit-and-finish as the OEM, but they're still quite acceptable. I just got one, and the only differences (aside from the lack of a Ram head--there's a place for one from the dealer, though) are it's all one piece, even the honeycomb, and the honeycomb is a bit thicker.

Still, I'm happy with mine. I believe a new OEM grille from the dealer is over $300. Local junkyard wanted $190! Ebay has them from $40 to $80, many you can buy immediately instead of actually bidding, and shipping is ~20. Mine ended up costing me about $70 once I'd gotten it installed.

Whoops, too slow!

Anyway, there are plenty of them on there, probably all are that same piece from different sellers. Just search for 'dodge ram grill' and you'll get dozens.

I ordered a new one from ebay as well in black as everything else on my truck is either black or white. Will post with results as soon as it arrives.

After my minro head on collision with a Nissan I too bought one from the E-bay store (I think it iwas 1A auto) it was $74 with shipping and I will let everyone know how it looks... My dealer gave me the Ram's head as I just spent over $1500 in front end parts from the accident.
