I was at Cummins CalPacific the other day and saw a brochure for a kit of chrome replacement parts for the Dodge ISB to dress it up. It had the alternator bracket and some other parts included. With my short attention span, I walked out and left it there. :(

Has anyone else purchased this kit? How much was it and what did you think of the results?

I asked the same question about Chrome parts for my 01' ISB and everybody responded that no chrome parts were available for the 24V engine. Maybe that has changed?

I will try and make a run back by CalPac and see if I can pick up one of the brochures... if I can get one, I will post the info.

Thanks.

Hi, ijust got off the phone with Cummins NW parts dept. He said they only offer the 12 valve chrome kit. He did not sound to confident... . :( Sam

Got the Cummins part numbers and approximate prices. Also went to Dodge and they had same thing, but more expensive.

Valve Cover kit p/n 3804732 $147

Air Intake kit p/n 3804733 $145

Heater Tube Kit p/n 3804734 $34

Alternator Brace kit p/n 3804735 $45

It doesn't say on the brochure if it works for 12v and 24v, and the Dodge guy didn't know for sure. Should be able to call Cummins and find out.

Not to be a stickler but the picture they have next to the info is a 24 valver. Newer style mirrors and the side trim deleted off the bed:D :D

socal_rattler,

Those sound like the part numbers for a 12V. Ask them how many pieces in the valve cover kit. A 12V has six valve covers, six gaskets, and six hold down screws.

Bad News for 24v'ers

OK. . I just called CalPacific and they verified that the chrome kits are only for the 12v engine.

He said they have not yet come out with info on a kit for the 24v:(

Has anybody contacted a plating shop about chroming the factory components? Your truck may be down for a few days but the results may be worth it.

Chrome parts.

I bought the chrome alt. bracket for the 24 v. at the cummins store. my local one.

it also had the 12v heater tube kit and something else but they did have the alt kit

Cummins does not currently offer a 24v chrome kit. Having said that, the alternator bracket for the 12v also fits the 24v CTDs... I have one on my Ram. I decided I wanted something more custom anyway so I modified (heavily) both a Cummins "red" valve cover and Banks High-Ram intake manifold, and then took them in to be chrome plated. Chris ("ramfan2") posted a pic of my engine in the Local and Regional Events forum, under the "Timberline Dodge Pictures" thread... check it out. Missing is the chrome plated thermostat housing I haven't installed yet.

Well, what do you think?

EMDDIESEL, you mean the blue turbo hoses? If so, I purchased the blue silicone hoses from The PowerShop in Enumclaw, WA (by the foot in my case... it can also be purchased in specific lengths from them too). The hose can also be purchased at most industrial hose/fitting supply houses. As you can see, the outside of the hose is a bright medium blue with a red/orange colored inside. I have them at both locations possible... next to the turbo and next to the intake manifold.

ACoyle and Rob Hanson, thanks for the compliments. The funny thing about the Banks High-Ram; after spending many, many, many hours laboring over the detailing of the "Banks High-Ram" lettering... jussst when I got it the way I wanted it I decided to grind it all off (:eek: ) as I wanted a more clean, billet look that looked truly custom. I achieved my goal although, I had VERY SERIOUS doubts as I ground away all the lettering... and I hadn't even successfully machined the valve cover or decked it with the random orbital. I have some other ideas that I hope turn out as well. :D
