Maybe "Big C" could get involved. Probably just a pipe dream, right. But with all the investment Cummins has in HD Dodge Trucks, and soon to be in Light PUs and SUVs, it would make some sense.

Kirk Kerkorian, where are you???!!!

It may sound like a great idea, but it will never happen. Cummins is only interested in producing diesel engines.

Wasn't suggesting Cummins buy Chrysler, but maybe join the investor bandwagon. Of course the "logical" conclusion by the "Ferd owns Cummings" crowd would be "Ferd owns Cummings owns Chrysler. " Not sure we want to go down that road. Too many idiots still believe "Ferd owns Cummings" as it is now.

Life Time Powertrain Warranty!!!

In a full page advertisement in Florida Times Union today, with

the purchase of a Chrysler product you will receive a LIFETIME Powertrain

WARRANTY on any vehicle except the SRT, diesel vehicles, Sprinter,

Ram Chassis Cab, and certain fleet vehicles.

It states that the Warranty is good for as long as you own the vehicle.

This is a Limited Power Train Warranty, meaning no abuse, proper

maintenance, no chips, still a good warranty though.

I thought the deal went thru yesterday, if not some how they will

be bailed out, if by none other than yours truly, the U. S. Taxpayer.

Understanding the car buying trends, this is for the most part a gimmick. Notice that the "investment vehicles" are not covered by the warranty (i. e. the guy or business who buys a Cummins for the long haul (7 to 10 years or more)). I would assume that on average folks trade in their cars very close to warranty expiration or shortly thereafter (with the exception of a small percent that keep their cars for many years past the warranty) just for the mere reason that there's another one out there thats newer or a different brand is the newest trend ... . Overall, DC makes out because people don't keep their cars that long. It is simply a luring and enticing marketing campaign. Simple statistical probability my friend. If the math and money guys thought they could not make money offering this, we never would be talking about it.

Just my $. 02
