Chuck talked to his oil distributor. The distributor has approximately 40 cases of Mobil 15W40 that is CI-4 Plus only, It does not meet CJ-4 specs. They would love to unload it.
It is $58. 80 per case. They will only sell it by the case.
I would love to buy a fair amount of it, but money is a little tight.

I think it is Oil Number 3 from the most recent string of TDR Oil analysis articles. Issues 54-58. It wasn't the best oil, it was the top of the Satisfsctory section, but it beat ALL of the CJ-4 oils.

ci4+ oil is available everywhere. just can not buy it in quarts or gallons. any shell or chivron distributor carries it in 5 gallon pails or 55 gallon drums. we use dello the cj4 has LE in the weight listing, ci4+ does not. ie 5w-40 LE

Thanks. You are the first person to come up with a way to find it.
The place I found it has quart bottles, but the distributor will only sell cases.

Amsoil Still markets the CI-4 + oils, in Quarts, Gallons, 30 Gallons, 55 Gallons or 275 Gallon Totes! Easy to purchase as well.

amsoil man i do not think we are talking about the same thing. when the dpf was about to be introduced they had to reformulate the oil package to remove the items that could not be burned off during regen. most of the best wear or friction modifiers like molly were removed. the new cj4 oil was the result. by law they could no longer sell any ci4+ oil in gallons or quarts because the public would not know the difference and would ruin millions of dpf filters. the cj4 oil is backwards compatable with ci4 oil but does no longer have the same lube qualities as the ci4+. all construction equipment and fleet operators in there non dpf trucks use the ci4+ oil. it is actually cheaper to purchas than the cj4. we pay $72 for the 5 gallon bucket and $714 for 55 gallon drum for the ci4+

I am very much aware of the oil specifications, and the oils produced by Amsoil Inc. The original post on this thread was talking about the CI-4+ OILS and the availability OF this specification in Bremerton, Washington. I was merely saying the CI-4+ oil specification was readily available from Amsoil Inc. in ANY quantity. I currently sell the CI-4+ Amsoil to any one that comes through my door that has a PRE-2007 Diesel truck, and there are many.
Respectfully,
Wayne (amsoilman)
