Has anybody in an E-Check county killed their kitty and passed inspection? I recently bought a 04. 5 and I'm contemplating an intake, Exhaust and Edge Comp when it comes out. With the new OBD II check do most folks remove the box before they go for inspection?

I live in Boone County, here they do an inspection evry other year. It consist of a particulate examination, and a visual. Also the fuel cap gets pressure tested.

Here in Clermont they only check vehicles over 3 years old, and nothing over 10,000lbs. GVWR. But in 01 my 98 12v passed with flying colors with a complete 5" exhaust, (sans muffler and cat). But they gave me crap about the stacks.

My buddy's 94 w/stacks and 370 inj, plate etc. smoked the inside of the e check facility :-laf and passed with flying colors

Go to a junkyard or something and get yourself a gvwr sticker of a dually and you never have to do e check again in ohio. The epa in blue ash will give you an exemption certificate. Doing that is no worse than removing the cat

I live in K-Mart county... ugh... I mean Clermont county and I haven't had mine done yet. When I looked at the registration there was no weight listed ???? not sure what will happen next year when it comes time for it to be done.

Just had the reflash done 18-037-04 for the white smoke/mileage and rough running. The truck runs differently now and the overhead seems to be more accurate. Will keep you posted with the mileage results.

I live in Hamilton County. On mine, they ran an opacity test on it. They didn't even check underneath for a cat (like they do with my other vehicles). Not sure if they'd do that on yours or not...

If you're worried about it, remove the pipe right behind the cat, take a drill with a big bit and hollow the cat out, and put the pipe back on. It'll look stock externally but flow better.
