I am considering the CIPA OEM Extendable Towing Mirror for my 96 2500 4x4 CTD. How about some feedback on them. Do they vibrate? How do they perform when extended? How do they work for towing? Is there a better mirror?

I have the Lucerix, same as CIPA, and feel they are one of the best upgrades I did on the truck. Added a couple of spot mirrors to the lower outside corners. Very little vibration. Big improvement over the slip ons. Mirrors clear much quicker than stock heated mirrors when fogged/iced up.

Lucerix work great

I have electric heated Lucerix mirrors. They are great. The only negatives I have found is they won't fold against the cab if you hit something, and because I am short, the passenger door blocks the lower part of the mirror.

I have had my mirrors for a year and pulled a 30' 5'er all over the Northwest. Can see everywhere except directly behind my rig. They also look good. Takes about one hour per mirror to install, including break time. Try that with the power-visions.

cheers,

Do a search on Lucerix or X-mount and you'll find plenty of info. I have a set and have been pretty happy with them. They vibrate more than I think a set of $400 mirrors should - my factory mirrors are rock solid - and they are angled towards the rear of the truck too much IMO but I can actually see around my 36ft 5th wheel with them.
