2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Circuitry...

Ok so I recently installed some new style headlights on my 01. They come with the nifty led daytime running lights but I don't know where to wire them. I need a circuit or fuse that comes on with the key. I'm trying to not use the cigarette lighter for this mod. If anyone knows what other circuit I could use that'd be great! Thanks!

I've wired them into all kinds of things. I put a pair in my '97, and wired them to the turn signal, as the bumper kinda hides the signal light. As for the power source, you can use all kinds of things... . on the '01, you can use the power windows, radio feed, engine feed..... just about any of the circuits that come on with the key. Have you thought about using the fog light circuit?



I'm guessing you want them to go off with the key..... are you going to switch them?

Yeah..... several companies make 'em. Most are wired incorrectly, so that both lights come on when in the High/bright position, by using the ground wire as a power feed wire..... this overloads the circuit..... I rewired mine and they work much better. Mine are the projector type, and I have a nice, flat beam out in front of me when driving and they're on low, kinda like the newer trucks. And brights are pretty good... . so much more so than the old, faded headlight. But, if you're paying top dollar for a pair, you shouldn't have to touch 'em.....
