I have had the Weatherproof 7 circuit Circuit Boss (4 switched and 3 hot) for about 6 years in the truck. It is mounted on the firewall under the hood. I have had no problems with it until recently. The switched circuits are only working intermitently. The majority of the time they do not work unless I move the relay around a little bit. The constant hot circuits are not affected since they continue to work. I tried cleaning the contacts on the relay and connections with contact cleaner but hasn't seemed to do anything. Anyone else have a problem like this? Any ideas what to check next? I would like to hardwire my Sirius and scanner but am holding off until this is resolved.

can't help you with your question, but how is the 12ga power wires working for you? I have one of these sitting on my shelf for a couple years waiting to put it in, but i am worried about the small power leads for something with a bunch of 20amp fuses.

I guess I might try a new relay.

Pavemen,

I have had no problems with the 12 guage power wire. I have an air horn compressor, CB, Blue LED strobe lights (volunteer firefighter), rechargable flashlight and four worklights powered off of this with no problems. Once this problem is resolved the Sirius radio, scanner and future two-way radio will be tied in.

I have a "Painless Wiring" set-up, probably much like yours. I also have 3 or 4 other "just relays" for one gizmo or another on my truck. The relays are pretty standard and common. Probably less than $5 at most automtive or RV stores. Just take a look at the schmatic imprinted on the top or side and match up the connectors.
