Turbo

gear vendors question

So are these injector nozzles pop tested and with in reason before you buy them. I know it only cost About $25 to have a set checked but what happens if they are out of spec? WOuld it be best to have them corrected locally or send them back. I am thinking of the 125 or 150 injectors nozzles.

Don't know yet. My stage 2's were delivered today in Vegas, and I am in Florida until Friday. But I talked to them before ordering and they claim they are pop and flow tested for balance. Others have had good luck with them.

Most fuel shops should be able to test them for you. If the pressure needs adjusting they should be able to handle it. If they can't do tell them to call me. Since we manufacture fuel injection test equipment I can sell them everything they need to test 24v cummins injectors.

Everything I've ever had done at City Diesel, it was done right.

As for as the injectors, any shop should be able to set the pop. it's not that much to it. Just know where you want it set. The shims will set it most anywhere you like. With these race trucks, there is no set pressure. You play till you get the best results. Remember the EPA wants you to walk a line. It's up to you.

Well, that was a shameless plug to upsell ya... (no offense) the City Diesel injectors work great. No problems. No need to spend more unless you want to go beyond 150hp injectors.

Is that you Skyler, I am the guy that bought your turbo, was just doing some check up on these injectors. Btw The turbo works great just need more fuel.

Glad to hear the turbo's working out. I'll be overfueled here soon myself (even with the twins). I'm making some major changes to my truck here within the next few weeks. Still keeping the twins, but everything else will be different courtesy of PDR. I'll have my 150hp CD injectors for sale here soon once PDR gets goin, along with a lot of other performance stuff (i. e. everything 'cept the twins). I'm out of AK though. Got out just in time before the cold and snow hit!

Iam looking AWFULY HARD at the same injectors. Im still researching them and trying to get the good, bad, and the ugly on them. I want a little more fuel (for street... not pulling or drag) but I cant figure the price. Im not sure if it was a misprint but I think it was around $400 for a set? Any Input from those that have these would be appriciated. Good post!

I have a set of Jammer 4's going in next weekend, they are tips in stock bodies that were pop tested. Will post results next week. I hope they are ok, because they sure dont cost too much... ...

Setting the pop refers to testing and adjusting the pop-off pressure.

If you purchase the complete injectors from City Diesel, they will clean the injector, do the pop test, and balance the set. All for a $100.

If you don't want to leave your truck down too long buy the complete injectors.

I have a set of the 150hp tips and have had very good luck with them!! They Fuel hard and the truck runs smooth!

So I recommened them to my friend that has an 02 and helped him with the install and his truck once warm will lope a little at Idle and all the way through will not run perfect - If i didn't have my truck to compare it to then I proly wouldn't think about it but another thing is that i would think it safe to say that he doesn't HALF the smoke that I did with the tips and comp box! So I don't know what to do really I haven't found any fuel leaks and everything seems up to specs!??

Any Ideas guys? -Lavon

My stage 2s are everything promised. Excellent customer service too. Shipped them out the day of the order, and credited my core charge the day after UPS says they delivered them. Can't beat the value at any price. :D

I'd go with the injectors and not have to worry about getting them pop tested, or risk not testing them at all.

glad you like em, on your buddys truck, the first thing I would check would be to make sure that the injectors are seated good. Doesnt really sound like the problem but it could be and its easy to check. If that doesnt fix it kinda sounds like a timing problem which can be caused by the pop off pressures being way off.
