Although I do not own an 03/04 :{ my uncle does and I have noticed that as he is getting more miles it seems like it is doing more and more clattering like my 01 actually if I had to compare I would say it sounds more like a 12v every time I drive it. Last night he drive it from the parking space to the front door and let it idle while we were loading the truck up and I noticed that there was no pilot injection at all as the truck warmed up the engine seemed to go into pilot injection. It was around 70 outside and truck had set for about 3 hours before restarting. He has almsot 13k on it.

Mine started rattling a little louder when I put the EZ on. I am at 18,000 miles now and it is definitely quiet compared to earlier Dodges I have been around. Once in awhile it will really rattle just as it starts, almost like an explosion of un burned fuel. But right away it quiets down. I really wish it made a little more noise, I like the rattle sounds a normal diesel makes. It is way quieter than my 85 Chevy 6. 2. I can not hear cell phone conversations in the 6. 2. People tell me they do not hear my engine in the background on the 2003. Still running about 19 mpg most of the time and making tremendous torque. I just thought big block Chevys were cool!
