I stumbled onto this blog today while checking the on-line paper.

It is written by a Maine State Game Warden's wife, he is assigned to Clayton Lake, Maine for the winter.

Parker Otto Ackley is a very famous name in the gun business. Probably the most prolific wild cat creator of all time. Ackley improved is the usual term, some have become commercial offerings and he has many followers today. He started the gun school at Trinidad State Junior College (nearly in New Mexico), which still is part of the Colorado school system (not sure how it has survived). He was a pioneer who eventually ended up in Salt Lake City Utah. Wikipedia has an article on him that is reasonably good.
