Man,I just got mine changed and the stock injectors had 63,000 miles on them and they were real clean no carbon and the only thing I have been doing in I use some marvel mystery oil when I fill up but other than that nothing,do you fuel up at the same place every time?

I just had my injectors replaced. I to have that carbon build up. I've been using Red Line Diesel fuel catalyst almost since new. It's suppose to be the same formula as the 85+. I have a little over 15000 miles. Think I'll try a different additive from now on.

I've just pulled my stock injectors also after 24K miles, no fuel additives. They were not shiny clean like the new ones, but had only a dull black discoloration. Could still see the injector orifices without problem. Didn't look abnormal IMHO, since these things sit in the middle of an unbelievable pressurized inferno. But man, those stock injectors are never going to see the inside of my engine again #ad

Howdy all,

After Chris Sutton [csutton7] installed my new DD Stage 3 "afterburners" this past weekend at the Modesto TDR BOMB fest, I got to looking at my stock injectors, as I decided to keep them just for the heck of it. Well, I decided to clean them up, and was surprised to see that after only 12,400 miles, they had "quite a bit" of carbon built up on them. O course I've never seen used injectors before, so I have nothing to compare them to. I have been using Red Line 85+ diesel fuel additive about every other tank of fuel.

My question to you all is: I know how much work removing the injectors is, but does anyone take their injectors out and check them for carbon/soot build up and then manually clean them up? I'd hate to lose any of that great new power after 50 or 100,000 miles of use from carbon buildup. Just being a bit paranoid, I guess.

Thanks,
Tom
