Cleaning my Engine

Hello all.



How does one go about cleaning the exterior of the engine and the engine compartment in general? I'm a little reluctant to go spraying water all over, but mine is getting grimy after three years.

I used the citrus orange spray in the pump bottle - let it sit a couple of minutes and hosed it off with a light running stream of water, no power wash.

I just cover the air filter with a plastic bag. Spray the engine and compartment with Gunk Engine degreaser, Let it set about 10min. , And spray off with a hose. Just don't do it with the engine hot.
