I got my vacuum pump seal replaced Sunday. Also cleaned the battery terminals to stop the transmission "searching" between 45mph & 50 mph (TDR is great!). Now, how do I get rid of the mess caused by the leak?

I usually protect the important wires and connections spray some engine-degreaser let is set will help alittle if the engine is warm not hot. let it fall off on its own get a flash light and check for gummy areas respray use tooth brush or something brush off. should be good. . you can use simple-green or the purple degreaser cleaner. some use a orange smelling cleaner to each there own. . just watch your connectors and wires. . I use a power washer on my engine 2 times a year. . good luck.....

second DIESELWRKS. I just did this fix, and some GUNK and my pressure washer from below, and things are all cleaned up down there for me now, and no more leak!

Simple Green works great. I coat the engine compartment and let it sit for a while then hose it all off. Then I let the truck sit overnight for it to dry. . Never had a problem and really looks great. .
