How about clear coat--any body have problems with it ,mine has small bubbles under it and I only got it in april of 2002. Its only a small area on my driverside rear door. :{
Should be covered by warranty that is you haven't modified the paint. Kiddin. I am curious where your truck was made. I have heard that trucks made in Mexico are allowed to use a better paint.
I think it was made in mexico,I know it took a couple of weeks to get here to boston when I was called saying its leaving the factory. I had it custom built . thanks for the reply.
It will say on the door window where it was made. Seems I heard that e. pa. in the U. S. would not allow wet paint. We can only use dry paint or some darn thing. Anyway I can't tell you why it is doing that. My 02 which is made in Mexico the paint is excellent. My 98 made in St Louis also has some bubbles on the roof. I never look at the roof and it has never got any worse so I just forgot about it.
Welcome! I have a post also titled clearcoat on page 2 of this site. might be interesting to you. Tell us your paint color . Tan paint two tone paint jobs were mentioned on another post.
I can tell you one thing. clearcoat cannot be patched or blended in . The entire panel must be painted. My truck is 02 built in mexico. A bird dropping was left on for a week and ate completely through the clearcoat. Not covered by warranty.
A body man told me that if I tried to spot the area with more clearcoat that it would make the existing clearcoat pull away. He said that the only way to repair it was to dull the area with 1000 grit paper and add color coat in -- then buff out the color coat
My truck is ,as the book said, pearl coat forest green. I am 100% happy with it except for that little problem. Glad I'm not alone on this. It's not good but I hope your happy with yours to.
