I WAS LOOKING IN A JC WHITNEY BOOK AND THEY HAD CLEARANCE LIGHTS FOR A DODGE JUST LIKE THE ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT FOR $26. 99 (SET OF 5 W/ WIRE HARNESS). I WONDER IF THEY WOULD BE AS GOOD AS THE DODGE DEALERS $70. 00 ONES?? HAS ANYONE BOUGHT THEM FROM JC WHITNEY???

THANKS!

Running lights

Boone,

What brand are these? A company called Pacer makes many of these light sets. If they’re Pacer then I can vouch for them. My kids got me some for my Birthday from a local auto shop. They’re young and didn’t know any better and accidentally bought the Old Chevy style. My kids are awesome so I wasn’t going to trade them for the Dodge style and possibly hurt their feelings. I went ahead and put them on.

Anyway, they look good, don’t leak, always come on, can buy a single replacement if I break one, cleanly tap right into the marker light wire, and are easily available. All this even thought the lights were made for a different truck!

Marker Lights

For the '95, the J C W lights are Peterson Mfg. same people who made 'em for Dodge that year. Don't think the harness is a plug-in, but that is no big deal.

How hard is it to install the lights? How is it done (drilling, wire connections)? I like how they look, but if it's too hard or if they have a problem leaking or something, I won't do it.

Does our trucks wiring harness run a wire for installing the clearance lights? That's the only option I wish I had ordered with the truck... .

Marker light install

It's not hard, will take about 2 hrs. Easiest way is to measure 3500 same year, then lay out on roof of yours. I used masking tape. When I drilled I put a collar on the bit to keep from hitting the headliner. Did not take headliner down, but pulled console. Soldered and shrink wrapped longer wire to each light and pulled wire to console, joined all 5 there and ran a single 14 ga. wire to drivers A pillar and down to headlight switch. Did not use the plastic inserts to screw, but drilled under sized and put a dab of clear RTV on screw hole and tightened screws. 160k miles and no leaks from the lights, wasn't true for the vhf antenna though.

Denny, We have basically the same truck. You said you fished a wire down the A pillar to the headlight switch. How did you get to your light switch? I can't even see it from under the dash... ... ...

If I remember correctly. . sometimes I don't. . Evan Beck said that you could use the wire from the light on the back of the cab. It seems to me that the wire runs in the direction that you need. .

I'm not sure if this is correct. .

Evan where are you??????

cab lights

I have a set of Dodge cab lights that I would like to sell. It is the complete kit with templete, light bulbs, lenses, wireing harness that plugs in to factory plug. Send me offer.

I'm selling them because I thought I would like them but after setting them on the roof I decided they wern't for me.
