Clearing trouble codes

Got up this morning and check engine light stayed on. Cycled key and got P 1693 code/ ecm,pcm companion code. I have the Diablo power puck and recently installed DTT valve body with the adjustable voltage regulator. Last month when I installed the voltage regulator I unpluged the ecm wire harness for the install and after got the same code. The code went away after cycling the switch. I have tried this several times and the code now stays. Is there a way to clear it without the scanner tool to get rid of the engine light. I can remove the puck for the trip to the dealer but the adjustable regulator is by the ecm and will probably be questioned. Any suggestions guys !!!!!!! Does anyone know if the puck or variable resistor for the tranee valve body would set this code! What will DC do when they see this little adjustable voltage regulator connected to the ecm wire harness!!!!

you could try disconnecting the (-) from both batteries for 2-3 hrs. This may clear it as well as everything else.

Diesel Freak, I have had the puck for about a year and no problems. I just unpluged it over lunch and ran the truck and code still there. I will drive it for several days and see what happens. If I must take it to DC hopefully the ECM will reset back to stock after several days ( I have read several threads that talk about that). Is the puck problem something that just pops up or were there new pucks that were bad.

Is your Puck the old style interupter unit, or the newer one way unit?

Diesel Freak, After several short trips the code and check engine light are gone. I am waiting for Diablos response. Feels like I am driving a sled wihout the puck How can you tell the difference between the pucks!!!! It might not of even been the puck tripping the light, I was hopping it might of been the truck telling me it hit freezing in sunny FLORIDA!!!!!!!!!
