I think you should quit while you are ahead. If the starter contacts stick your fuel solenoid will go up in smoke. The starter may do that too. Get some better contacts from LarryB at http://www.fostertruck.com/dodge/default.htm
Or, if time is important, get a local starter/alternator/generator shop to re-do your starter. Should be around 50 bucks. My guys get it done in about an hour.
While you are at it, get a diode to protect the fuel solenoid. You can get a diode for about $5 or a kit from Larry B for about $25. A solenoid is $150 or more.
