Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) click,tick, ting sound

I have a click -tick- tinging sound in my dash area. I cant seem to duplicate the sounds sittng still and I cant seem to quiet it either. I have tried every conceivable way to quiet it and it wont quit. I seems as though it happens more when cold and happens especially while moving. Just wondering if its the clock spring?? I have lubed all the shifting linkage, addressed all the pinch weld issues, and have even done the colum bushing fix. any ideas????

Thank God I Found It

well I found it... . almost better than winning the lottery, and I threw the "for sale sign away" Last year I had posted a lengthy post about the creak noise that I had that no one else could find, ended up being the pinch welds. Thought I had fixed it. Well this latest click- tick- spring twanging- noise was driving me nuts. thought it was in the colum maybe the clock spring. Well after tearing into it on sun I readjusted the pinch welds and KILLED the noise... So happy
