My 03 developed the same problem a month or so ago. It appears to be the module on the shaft that determines when the clutch is pushed in for startup and disengaging the cruise control. I've been waiting for it to fail to see how long it takes. Its been coming and going lately, and everything appears to be cool yet.

I got the click too. I haven't looked under there yet but I was assuming that the scotch lock I used to jump out the clutch switch was making contact somehow. Perhaps I shall stick my melon under there and have a peek.

I took my truck up to the cold country when it was 2 months old. It clicked as soon as I reached teh snow level, then disappeared when I got back down below it.

It was real irritating. I'm glad it went away. Let us know if you find the cause!

Floor Mats

Had the clicking clutch myself. Found the pedal catching one of the ribs on the overpriced, black, high ribbed to hold water, slush, snow Dodge floor mat that you can't keep clean. Moved the mat a little to the left or right and no more ticking.

I had something similar to what you have but mine was the rubber pad that fits over the clutch pad. The rubber you put your foot on to press the clutch. I took it off and just put a film of grease in the rubber and put it back on and it has not done it since. Before it would not do it evey time seems like it would do it more the first several times you used it.

mine clicked about a month after i bought it. did it for about a month and then quit. i have no idea what it was but it was VERY annoying. glad it's gone.

wish i could be more help. hopefully yours will disappear as well.
