Are they replaceable? A few of mine are burned out. I took it all apart the other day and they appear to be "built-in".

Can those little lights be replaced somehow w/o replacing the whole assembly?

Good Question

I was looking at my buddy's 04 last night and his are toast too. We were going to pull it apart and take a look this weekend. I hope that they are replaceable. If we figure something out I will let you know.

If you look at the back of the assembly, the ones that are burnt out on mine are the ones you can see w/o completely disassembling the whole thing. There are three little electrical doohickeys (technical term) that are exposed. Those are the backs of three of the lights. I found this out after taking mine apart and finding nothing helpful.

My buddy and I never got around to looking at his, so I pulled mine. I have the three lights in the back like you describe (doohickeys). I put two small screw drivers into the little tabs that are on the left and right of the picture that shows the back of the light. Rotated counter clockwise and it came right out. I am going to the dodge dealer later today to hopefully get some and can get a part number for them.

I have an 04 with the same problem... . they told us a complete assembly was the only way to take care of the problem. We looked for replacements but have not found them. I'd sure like a part number if one can be found...

I just pulled one out of a Town and Country today for the same reason. Dealer told me its service as a unit $220. Now that's one expensive light bulb. I may attempt to replace the bulb with an led. if you do get a part # pass it on.

Well here is what I found out. Some good and some bad. If you have the dual climate controls, it is one unit and the lights are part of the cuircut board that are inside the unit. We pulled my buddies apart to take a look and it does not appear that you can just buy a replacement bulb unless you can soder in some new ones. I am not going to try that, but if you do not have dual climate control the replacement bulb is 5013815AA. The unit pictured above is mine and does not have the dual climate controls. I hope this helps.

Those bulbs are replaceable, but you can only get the bulbs from dodge... I searched a lot of places, even order some that were supposed to work, and the only ones that fit are from dodge.

They are around $5/each... I just replaced mine a month or so ago...

They actually look like you could replace those bulbs with a LED easy enough... next time I'm going to get my local CB shop to replace them with a bulb for a radio and see what happens...

The unit I was working on had dual zone, i was able to disassemble the unit and remove the bulbs. They are close in appearance to the one listed above but not the same. Still think i'm going to attempt to replace with a #74 bulb

First I called Albany Chrysler in Albany, MN. They didn't have any and they pointed me towards Delano. I usually do my business in Albany even though they are 65 miles away and Delano is 15. Both places had them for $1. 85.

Got them in tonight. Dang are they bright. No more guessing or feeling for the little bump on the knobs.

The center trim around the radio and ac controls is held in with friction fasteners... should just give it a tug and it should pop out.

Steve or anyone... . can you be more descriptive on how to remove the plastic trim?

When I touch plastic, something always breaks... ... ... #@$%!

Thanks

Open the knee bolster under your steering wheel, remove the trash bag screw and open the ash tray. Then just grab the top of it and pull. Work your way down the panel and it will pop out. You'll have to unplug some wire harnesses to get it free.

Mine is a 2005 without Dual Zone. I have done the instrument panel back lighting and the climate control back lighting. The instrument bulbs are 194's I think (takes 11 bulbs for instrument panel) and the climate control (takes 3 bulbs) bulbs are Mopar only items. I paid close to $5 each for those.

I have already got another Instrument bulb out and the one that is out is less than a year old.
