When backing into my side yard to load the camper, I noticed the clutch has a tendency to not disengage. It first became apparent when I went into reverse (it's a '99 5 speed) with difficulty, then when I took my foot off the brake without letting the clutch pedal out, the truck began to move. :eek: I shut down the engine after stopping and was able to shift into neutral. This happened a couple of more times as I tried to duplicate the situation and then seems to have stopped. A check of reservoir fluid level showed full. I am planning a drive around the area to see if it still malfunctions. What do you real mechanics diagnose as my truck's problem? :{

BTW... . the OEM clutch has 129K on it and just returned from Alaska towng a 13+ pound fifth wheel.

BTW again... . It was well over a 100 degrees and the truck had been running for nearly 3/4 of an hour.

A test drive did it! The clutch release is totally ineffective. It appears the hydraulic release system (master and slave cylinders, et al) will need to be replaced. #$%^&*( ... . I was just getting ready to load up the boat for my Fall trip to Lake Powell.

Sounds to me like your pilot bearing is toast! The stock one is a tiny needle bearing without much grease and no seals. They tend to sieze to the in-put shaft of transmission. Hope this helps.
