Clock Spring Replacement

I think I have a bad clock spring. Air bag light comes on, shuts off and 1 second later it is back on for good. Going to the dealer this afternoon to get diagnostics run. Sixty big ones just to find out what the problem is. If it does turn out to be the clock spring, are they hard to replace? Are they expensive? Thanks in advance.

Hey jon How many miles on that 99? Warantee issues can be had real easy when it cries safety..... what was that?... ... ... NHSTA? a dealer near by tried some happy hosre I TRIED TO BY-PASS THE CUSSING FILTER with an airbag issue with a neighbor claiming He disturbed the sensors installing a dash switch. A dash switch disturbing a crash sensor... ... C'Mon he didn't install a Bumper switch walked in to svc and exclaimed the fact it was under warantee and could be a National highway Safety Trade Administration issue and all he saw were streaks of grey/green uniforms run to get the keys to pull it back in and do the work

If my memory is correct, emissions and air bags have a much longer warrantee period than the standard 3/36,000.

Do you have Cruise contol? If the clock spring is broken, the cruise control won't work either. They are about $150. Not hard to replace.
