I got a question how big of a bear is it to replace the clock spring ?? Anymore anytime I turn left its like nails on a chalk board  can't take it much longer... .

It is very simple.

but, you must follow the instructions.

There is risk of the air bag going off.

And do NOT let the clock spring unwind, or turn the steering wheel!

The factory service manual is the best guide.

My 2000 Dodge Dakota had a Factory Recall on the clock spring. It was replaced twice. Wonder when recalls expire.

The clock spring is a wire harness (wound like a clock spring) and I wouldn't expect it to make a lot of noise. Normally individual wires break and cause intermittent electrical problems.

nothing to the clock spring I took mine apart last summer, just a ribbon tape inside, and a copper contact point with a spring that gets gummed up, clean it up and put it back together, the ribbon tap is a mile long, you can guess about where middle is on it and still have plenty of turning with it, I have pics at home of it apart if anyone wants them. I am on vacation for a couple more days fishing.

Just finished replacing mine about 20min ago. Couple bolts to remove the Airbag assembly, Steering wheel puller to get the wheel off. Its sitting right behind the wheel. It was about a 30min job not counting looking for steering wheel puller that was hidden in the garage.
