I had my local Dodge dealer replace my clockspring last spring to the tune of $250.

Last week on our way back from IN,TN etc, the air bag light came on and cruise was intermittent. . Now it doesn't work at all.

My dodge dealer only put a 12,12 warranty on the work, and its already over that.

I would rather not pay them to do it unless absolutely necessary... Is this something I can do myself or is it nothing to mess around with, with the airbag being in close vicinity to the work?

You can handle with a little patience, and tools. Make sure you disconnect the batteries prior to work for at least 10 minutes. Remove steering wheel, etc. and clock spring. Seems to be a early problem for this to repeat. May need to check for other problems before throwing in a contact unit.
