Boy do I have an angel on my shoulder.
I'm taking an off ramp when I get a mini van coming from the #2 lane to my exit lane in the collision vector mode. I brake, shake my head, and wonder if I should do something stupid to show her that I just avoided damaging her day. We get to the light at the end of the ramp with her now comfortably in front.
Now I'm the guy that takes pride in paying attention to the color of the lights that control traffic flow, she on the other hand has decided to wait at the now green light to proceed. I wait for the usual cranial rectal removal time before I decide that the horn will only make bad decisions worse.
(Mantra) Let the cards fall where they may.
~3 seconds after the light goes green she decides to go.
The F550 going about 40 blows the light and proceeds to remove the entire front end of the Caravan.
If I had been #1 at that light I would have been T-boned by a landscape truck loaded with god knows how much weight.
I stopped to make sure everyone was OK then thanked the van driver for cutting me off. She looks at me like I’m crazy and starts to yell about my blinker not being on.
Sorry I say, “I was behind you, I’m not the truck that hit you. ” She asks why I stopped then. Got to love our California’s drivers.
