Has anyone noticed that the drivers seat (deluxe cloth power unit) on their 03 is simply not as comfortable as earlier models? I seem to have seen a reference to this on an previous post and am here to tell you it's true. Just got back from my first road trip and couldn't help but notice. Not too bad, but definetely a step down. My '99 was better. On the other hand, steering is much better, as is braking, but you all know that. It is quieter cruising down the interstate and may ride a tad smoother. Visibility is not as good over the hood, even with the seat cranked up, but all in all, was worth the trade. First two tanks 17. 8 & 16. 8 mpg. Hope that improves a little. Gotta love that HO though.

Cheers!

With eight ways to adjust it electrically, I kept trying. Finally figured out that I had to move the lever up on the side to bring the back of the seat forward a tad. Got my weight off of my tailbone alittle and now it's better. I agree though, I think my '98 and '01. 5 had more comfortable seats.

No lumbar on the manual seat. And it sure seems like I have to stretch to push the clutch all the way in - gotta have the seat up forward too. I don't think my 5 foot mom could drive it without the adjustible pedal option (which I don't have).

I was surprised to find that the buckets in my 93 were so much more comfortable than this truck. I have to admit though that during our recent trip to Disneyland and back the seats weren't as bad as I thought they would be. No bad aches or pains after a 14 hour stretch and that's saying something. I guess in the long run their not that bad.

About the seats... . I have a 97 to compare the seat quality with. I purchased the truck and drove it down from PA since I got the best deal on the truck their. Now I live in South Florida so for me it was a 15 hr drive and a little over 1200 miles and at first I would have to agree with you guys that the seat were not as comfortable, I got home with sort of a back ache on this trip. But now the interesting part, since i have had the truck over 2 weeks and drive it everyday, I think my body likes the extra support that seats provide because I feel uncomfortable when I drive the 97 now... go figure. :) I guess give the seats a little time to break-in or to let your body adjust to the new feel of the seats... kind of like that learning curve effect!

I used to work for the NC state prison system and spend 4 hours a night in a 96 CTD reg cab, or F250. The seats '96 ram seats were WAY more comfortable than the F250. But still not as comfy as my '03.

i love the seats! i lean mine back a little and power out the lumbar and bring the pedals real close. On a long trip these seats will give perfect support to your back you will see in time they are designed like German made seats:D Ride in a mercedes and you will understand the reason for these seat design.
