I was wondering if anyone on here has a mini bench seat in the back of their club cab. I have been given a 1980-something Ford F250 rear bench seat and wanted to know if anyone has fabbed a way to make one of these seats work?
My 92 and my buddies 93 club cabs both had narrow benches in the back. Not sure how they were mounted but I can get pics, but not for a while as I am on holidays. Shadrach
"New Ugly" ('93 Club Cab) has "jump seats", one on each side. I am interested in a bench seat, also! However, there's definitely not alot of leg room available! Those jump seats are useless for passengers. Rough roads, hard braking or acceleration would leave a passenger, in one of those seats, with lumps on the side of the head. I wonder if a full bucket seat would fit , sideways, behind the drivers seat, allowing for a third adult passenger, egress behind the front passenger seat and provide some level of comfort and protection? How about Ford SuperDuty extended cab (SuperCab) benches? They are "tiny" in comparison to most extended cab seats. Not talking about CrewCab's here. Those are BIG! I suppose the only question would be width across. But any decent upholstery shop could fix that.
I'm fortunate enough to have one of those shops here locally... a real "hot-rodder" car type who knows car interiors and convertible tops like nobody else. He also knows first gen seats real well as he has several 90's era Rams and Ramchargers.
Perhaps you could also look at older SuperCabs from the 80's and 90's. Those seem to be the shortest extended cabs similiar to Dodge Club Cabs.
Hhhmmm... ... ... well I am picking up the 1980's Ford rear bench sometime in the next few weeks. I know folks out there have fabricated rear benches from scratch. I am just hoping this Ford rear seat will work. This seat is out of an older Ford that had the extended cab with "split" windows
ive heard a 88-98 chevy seat will work decent. ive got a buddy that stuck a seat out of a 96 or older dakota in the back. its narrow but works. im about to try the same. there is also that rv place in canada that sells seats that bolt into the back, but iirc they are in the $800 range.
I can't tell you what this bench is from, but it was in the back of my 92 Club Cab when I bought it. The passenger bucket had been remounted several inches forward as had the console.
As you can see the buckets are out for as I am replacing them with a bench before I sell the truck. I tried sitting on the little bench and it wasn't bad if you moved the "back rest", which is just sitting there loose, up to just below the lower window moulding. It is not for big people. Shadrach
Wow!!! Cool looking rear bench seat! It looks like one of those early 90's Canadian company based rear bench conversions. That is the first I have ever seen one. I was saddened to learn that the Ford extended cab seats are approximately 61" long and 14" wide. These dimensions require the rear speaker boxes to be removed. I just didn't like all those modifications and too much hassle. I seriously wish I could find a rear bench seat identical to yours.
Did you notice the black stripe on the lower window moulding. It's actually velcro to hold the back rest in place. BTW there are no seat belts for this seat. In Alberta thats a no-no. Shadrach
