When I am coming to a stop from say maybe 45 - 40 mph I'm hearing a clunk from under the truck as I apply the brakes. It seems to be originating from the driver side. I can also feal this clunk with my feet on the driverside floor board. The brakes opperate perfectly, and I can't feal or hear it when braking on the freeway at 70 - 80 mph. Only when braking from 45 mph and lower.

What could this be ???

TIA

popping

Check the eccentric adjusters on the lower trailing arms. Make sure that they are not popping out of place.

Now by " trailing arms " do you guys mean the control arms ?

Is trailing arms the name for the control arms for a 4x4 ?

2x4 = control arms 4x4 = trailing arms :confused:

Sorry for being dumb, but I really don't know.

P. S. If we are thinking of the same thing trailing/contrtol arms, do I just get under there with my torque wrench and make sure they are tightened to spec ? Here is what I have for torque specs

Upper Arm = arm-to-axle bracket nut ( 89 Ft-lbs )

axle-to-frame nut ( 80 Ft-lbs )

Lower Arm = axle-to-frame nut ( 125 Ft-lbs )

axle-to-axle nut ( 110 Ft-lbs )
