2006 5.9 3500 Ram manual transmission. I get a clunk in the driveline somewhere when sitting idle either in gear with clutch in or in neutral. happens about every 30 secs. can only hear or feel it from the cab. Seems to be more pronounced in colder temps. this is nothing new been going on for years. Thanks

I have an auto and sometimes get a clunk when I put it into gear. Do you hear it or feel it or both. I don't know that much about trannys, but I would block the wheels, set the parking brake and get underneath with an engine stethoscope or long screwdriver with the handle on my ear and business end on the transmission to narrow down where it's coming from. Worst case, take it to a reputable transmission shop and have them diagnose.

Let us know what you figure out.

Probably the DMF doing its thing. When it falls apart and is replaced that will likely solve the problem.

Found the culprit and its not in the driveline. Its the A/C unit cycling on every 30 seconds or so when using the defroster. Guess theres a first for everything. Thanks Wiredawg!
