2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Track Bar problem

OK heres the deal... .

Whenever I take a left corner at anything more than a couple mph, there is a knock from somewhere in my front end and for the life of me I can't find it. ONLY when turning left at speed. It seems like it does it while turning the wheel only past a certain point... like a hard corner or something. It's not a hard shudder or anything, just a very audible clunk.

Any thoughts or suggestions?:(

idea on clunk

It's possible that the clunk is from the front track bar, which locates the axle side to side. If you do a search for track bar discussions, you'll find as I did that the bushing which mounts to the axle on the front in a small bracket can go bad or the ball joint which mounts to the frame on the other end.

I think the guys were saying that Napa stores offer their own or a MOOG improved part for just under $ 200. How many miles on your rig ? Do you drive street or off road or rough roads ? These are all factors, of course.

I'm just about to have installed a Rancho Suspension 2" lift kit that has new trailing arms with urethane bushings, and we'll get a good look at the track bar then, and if it's bad or going bad, I'll grab a new one. I suspect so 'cause I've heard a clunk occassionally from my front end, also...

Happy Dodge-ing !~
