I will be getting a big bucket of these any day . I was vary reluctant about having them made.
After doing some research I learned that no one was making them in the after market. Dorman has Ford and Gm (they are too small for Dodge) They said that they did not have a source for the Dodge .
So I had them made. I chose to make them out of Delrin instead of nylon. Delrin holds up better under pressure. They will also fit all the rear wheel drive cars from the 60's threw the 80's as well. This same style of bushing was also used in the throttle pivot mounted on the engine on the Cummins trucks. I was thinking about making some of those as well.
They seem to be loose on all the trucks I see lately. What do the rest of you guys think ?

Awesome! If they are the same for '91 and '01, I need two complete sets when they come in. Thanks

Nick

Mysteryman give me a call when you get them !!! I called a few Mopar restoration shops and they claimed they are not the same , I told them there full of it
I told them that a respected Mopar engineer said there the same !!! When the dealer wants $4. 65 each for the OEM ones and there far and few to be found is insanne in price it would be over $30. 00 to do a manual truck , for $30. 00 i want a box of bushing not just a few !!!

Ditto here mysteryman. If they are the proper oines for a 2001. 5 I would like to get a full set from you also. Please let me know when they are available by PM.

Thank you!

Nice! I can use a few. A few years ago, i looked high and low for those, and nearly had a couple custom made from Delrin myself, but it's extremely expensive to have just a couple made. I'm still limping along on an old one.

Delrin is pretty cool material. I made some bushings out of it for my wife's rocking chair-4 grand kids Nd 20 years still rocking

Well, now that everyone is interested..... where are they going to be available ?

Will I be able to go to my local 7-11 and buy a blister pack of them ? You know, right next to the milk in the 1st generation dodge aisle ?????:)

Ooooh. Mopar pricing. I get it. :D :-laf

Ohhhh, I see. No... . I'll just steal them from the dealer's lot, at that cost!!! May get a few, then I can afford something else, like a center cap or something.....

Hey, MysteryMan, on the throttle pivot bushings, have you thought of using something like the oil-embedded brass, (were they oil-lite?) like some of the old-school center pilot bushings on the old flywheels? Would that be any tougher than the Delrin?

I'm interested in some, too..... Eventually, I'm gonna owe you a good check!!!

I replaced my throttle bellcrank bushings with brass. Just went to Tractor Supply, got 2 bushings with flanges and 1 without, Loctited them in (flanged ones on the ends) and drilled them to size. Much better than that plastic crap that was in there. ;)

That sounds much easier... . Did they have the right O. D? I redid one a few back using some stainless rifle barrel... . It was shot out, so being not much more than a tent stake, I machined me two bushings out of it. I guess it's ok, I haven't seen it in several years... . It was a pain to do, though, so I'm not sure I'd do it again unless it's for mine.....

They were, but after I cleaned the rust from the bore I could slide them through by hand. It was a little worn from the failed bushings. I let the Loctite sit over night before I drilled it. TS had bushings that went up in steps, 3/8 o. d. had a 1/4 i. d. , (the one I got) etc. I needed the 5/16 i. d. , so I drilled it. I put it on my buddies seat and guide machine at his machine shop to drill it, I could have done it in a drill press just as well. lol I spent lots of hours on e-bay and the 'net trying to find the right size od/id bushings, they are few and far between, and expensive when you do find them. I think I have $6 or $7 tied up in bushings. :D
