The rubber pads on my pedals are wearing down and do not have much grip left, especially with wet shoes. My question is there something out there that is better for grip than the factory pads? I'm thinking od something metal and rough surfaced and a little bigger in area.

Try doing a search on ebay. I was looking for something else, but came across some metal looking covers with holes in them. It almost looked kind of looked like something that you would see in a race car. If I come across them, I will post back.

Although they seem more marketed to the "ricer" crowd of cars these days, Autozone/Advance/O'Reilly, etc. etc. carry anodized aluminum 'covers' that slip in place over your old ones and tighten down (for manual or autos). They have holes punch-pressed into them that give excellent grip. Probably the same ones that JDK saw on eBay.

If you search on Autozone's website you can find them.
