Engine/Transmission (1998.5 - 2002) Clutch change-out

When you guys drop the transmission on the 4x4's, are you splitting it from the transfer case to make it more manageable or do keep everything together and just man-handle it.

Together, and securely strapped to a transmission jack.

Personally, I split them. It's just six nuts to take the T-case off. I remove that by hand and set it aside. It's much easier to balance the transmission by itself. I don't like the look of my transmission jack straining much harder than it has to.

Together they are pretty large and it can be done. Took mine out together then put them back separately.
