Just a quick question, getting ready to put a new clutch in the dog and wanted to know if anyone else has done this themselves and what pitfalls to look out for, as well as about how long it would take? Any special tools needed?

I have put clutches in 4x4 and cars before, just never on a dodge diesel. Any input would be appreciated.

If you have put a clutch in a 4x4 before then you will have no problem. Just remember to slide the cross member up and then out. That and Dodge didn't see fit to give us a nice removable transmission hump like my Chevy. I used a cheapo transmission jack adapter, which I modified mid project to ease reinstallation. So, I can’t claim the quickest time.

Take the four screws out of the shift tower, as apposed to the push and turn thing for the shifter, as it still won't clear the floor board... T

Two words.

PORTA-POWER!!! Use it to spread the frame rails for ease. Also be patient. My clutch took almost 9 hours.
