edge comp box had every other bar lit this morning?

Preporator/mounting?

I'm walking through another clutch. I was looking at either the Centerforce Dual Friction clutch or the SBC Con O Ralley. Both are rated at around 350 hp, and the price is right on both of them. The second part matters more to me while I am paying for college. Anybody tried either of them? I went through this last NAPA clutch pretty quickly but it would be so hard to deBOMB my truck a little. Thanks.

Do a search for a few current threads. My experience with the Centerforce dual was short. Took it out in about 100 pcs. The SBC clutches may cost more at the get go but sure last and you can't beat the customer service.

I can send you some pieces from whats left of my Centerforce experiment years ago. The best bang for your buck is to call Peter at Southbend Clutch and explain to him what you have done and what you future plans are. That way you get the clutch that fits your budget and your HP/Tq range and won't have to learn the hard way as some of us others have. There is a young college kid who is one of our members and I talked him into a SBC which Massdiesel installed for him. Each time I see him he thanks me for the recommendation. Your truck, your choice, but,as they have said,do some research and the facts will be there for you in print... ... ... ... ... . andy

DON'T buy a centerjunk..... have a buddy with a 94 (the SMALLEST HP p-pump!) with a #10 plate and 300 bosch marine injectors and he was slipping his new dual friction centerjunk before the 1st month was out..... clutch was supposed to be rated @ 800ft/lbs TQ and he was within the limit... ... guess what... ... . centerjunk tech support said "TOUGH!" #@$%!

I've had two South Bend clutches... ... . 1st a 13" FE that was in my last truck... . man I thought that was a stout clutch! ... ... . nah my new Dual Disk from SBC is A LOT stouter! And as mentioned above Peter's customer service is 2nd to NONE! :D

I'm running the Con O Rally in my CTD. I'm at 700tq rear wheels. My suspension and tires are stock. I used to run an old heavy slidein towing my Jeep & trailer. The Rally held it no problem. Have since sold the slidein. Bought my Rally right after Peter started selling the new version. I think it's a 6spd center for strength.

Thanks for the advice. I am a poor college kid too, and its tough paying for my truck and college, so money is a factor in this. I haven't really heard anything about the centerforce clutches or the ralley, and I wasn't sure if that was a bad thing or not. Looks like I'll be giving SBC a call. Thanks.

Take it from me, If there is something to put to the test, I do it!

I have gone through several 12" OFE's... I have the 13" FE, and that is THEEEE only way to go! When I tore the center out of the other discs, Peter was very prompt to get me back on the road ASAP! One thing I can say about Southbend Clutch: Awesome people, Even Better Customer support, and very professional in handling business!

My recommendation for you: At least a 13" OFE, but the FE is worth the extra $$$.
