Hey,

I am installing a OEM clutch master/slave cylinder, and have a quick question - does the quick disconnect have any trick to it? the master and slave come as a pre-bled unit, but seperate, with little rubber caps on the end.

Is is as easy as going "thunk" and sticking them together?

Broke the retaining clip for the pedal, so I have a day while I wait for the part to make sure I do this right.

for the record, the dealer said $240 in labor (plus the $220 part) and it took me an hour and 10 minutes, with 25+ spent on the clip and the wiring connector.

upside down sucks. Now I could do it in 30 min I bet. .

Thanks in advance!

Quick connects with boots on them, pull the boots off, and connect like it is an air hose coupling. I would suggest making the connection before you install the slave into the bellhousing. To disconnect, does it have a nylon split collar around the plug end? If it does, you need to press the split collar into the coupler to release the locking tangs.

Did it work? I'm having the same problem with the clutch /slave assy. Everything is installed, took less than 45 minutes, but connecting those two lines have been a bear and I haven''t found anyone (till now) who has ran accross it.

Might try connecting the lines WITHOUT the slave cylinder bolted in place, or with the slave just loosely in place, no pressure on it at all. If in the act of bolting it in place any pressure was created on the quick connect, you might be unable to release the Q/C and connect it.

When I replaced mine I didn't have it snapped together good and when i pushed the clutch the first time it came undone. I had unbolt the the cylinder from the transmission and release the pressure to get it snapped back together.

My clutch just hit the floor two days ago, i'm trying to find the right parts for this job. So is the master and slave cylinders two seperate parts? Where did you find them? Aftermarket or dealer? Sounds like i can fix this quick in my driveway and save some $. Any input would be great.
