Clutch disc exploded!!!

I just removed the clutch and pressure plate from my boss's '99 1 Ton 4X4 and was showered with springs and friction material when I unbolted it from the flywheel. It has Luk written on both pieces. I know the unit is not original equipment by the stripped pressure plate bolts. Has anyone had this problem before? P. S. The truck pulls a loaded 3 car trailer with the PM3 an level 9 regularly.

Sorry to break the news... the stock clutches on our trucks are indeed made by Luk. Sounds like your boss really lugs his engine. Poor truck.

he is half right, the stock clutches are made be LUK and so are alot of the performance clutches.



there is no way that clutch could be stock, if it would hold up to a 3 car trailer on level 9 of a PM3. my stock clutch slips on level 5 on an empty truck.



you better make sure you dont put a stocker back in call Peter at South Bend. I'll bet he can fix him up.



I have one of SBC's clutches at home. I just got it yesterday.



it was like i was kid again all over. I hope they dont need the box back, I slobbered all over it, last night in my sleep.
