I had my NV4500 transmission rebuilt 4000 miles ago & my LUK Clutch is holding up well, but the clutch isn't disengageing completely when I hit my pedal. I know that it isn't my clutch that is the problem so I start looking into the hydraulic system to find a fix. I took my cap off the reservoir & it looks like sawdust lying in the bottom of it. Is what I'm seeing pieces of a seal from the slave cylinder? I'm lost.

A friend just told me that Southbend has a complete hydraulic system that uses a 03-04 Dodge hydraulic system. Have any of you used the Southbend kit? Do they have more travel in the slave cylinder?

the southbend hydro upgrade is like the 96-98, i think, slave cylinder. i have one but have not put it in yet. the slave is twice the size. also the master cylinder rod is adjustable, so you can adjust the pedal too.

I am pushing the pedal through the floorboards to get this thing into gear now. It has been getting worse & worse... . kinda expecting it to go. My friend told me that the SB units were 03-04 units & you had to change the pedal assembly & different mounting on the firewall for the reservoir too. Are there different units or something.

I took my reservoir cap loose & pumped my pedal today & it really helped out. I took it for a drive & it was alot easier to get into gear, but I am still not getting a good release. I checked the bushing on the clutch pedal & it does have some play in it after 150k miles. Thanks for the info RAMICATOR... . I am gonna check into getting a SB kit if it isn't better after I replace this bushing.
