2006 Dodge engine damage - Cannot get answer!! HELP!!

transmission shifting...

I just put the SBC Con FE in my truck approx. 10K miles ago.

When it was first in, life was glorious! Now not so much. When the truck comes to a stop I have to shut it off to get it into gear. When driving, it shifts, but is slower going into gear than it was. I am on the factory master/slave/hydraulics, etc. So they may just be plum worn out.

The pedal comes off the floor approx 3" before the clutch begins to engage.

Are the 2nd gen parts a direct fit? Do I need to modify in any way shape or form to get them on the truck? Are they in fact higher PSI than the 3rd gen pieces?

I'm stuck driving my Mustang Gt for now, I need torque!:D

The rod between the pedal and master cylinder is diffrent as well as the reservoir. The reservoir isn't a big deal, just mount it to the firewall. Peter @ SBC has a pre made adjstable rod available.

You also might try slipping the transmission into 3rd gear and then bring it out and choose the gear you want.

It works for me and I have the upgraded hydraulics.

I have the same issue as you with shifting. But right off the bat once hte clutch was installed (conFE). I have about 250 miles on it now. The clutch is now grabby, so I figured that's normal and it's settling in, But it's impossile to shift fast!

If I were to shut her down with clutch disenguaged, the clutch disc spins for a while, you can hear it spin down. so I think the piolot barring is good.

If I shift slow, I'm all set, but things are notchy. Downshifting seems normal, no extra firmness.

Did you solve this with the upgraded hydrolics?

A bit of history on my clutch. I had one good run a while back and since thing I got a vibration in the clutch peddle and accelerator and the clutch peddle seems to lighten up (close to what you feel with the G65 transmission). Now I have a hard peddle as I'm supposed to have. This sound like yours?

My '03 just started doing this on it's stock drivetrain. When I'm slipping the clutch to back slowly or just crawling forward... after about 5 seconds it pretty much locks into gear. Pushing the clutch to the floor still won't disengage and the truck just keeps trying to move. It also won't let me shift out of gear at this point. The only thing that seems to work is to shut the truck down, let the cluth out, then press it back in to shift out of gear. Most noticible in reverse, but also does this in 2nd gear from a stop. Normal driving seems fine. I'm thinking the "clutch master cylinder???" is leaking pressure. No fluid getting to the ground... . Any ideas? I take it to the local dealer Monday morning. Need to be able to tow next Wednesday... ... . -Trey
