Well over the weekend I've managed to install a South Bend 13" FE clutch, a new set of PDR 370 injectors, and re-install my old #10 plate.

First, I really like this clutch its still kinda choppy though, but I drove Meacham Evins (MEvins) 94 215 Pump'd 2500 this afternoon and his is a lot smoother than mine so I'm guessing I just need to get a few more miles on it. Still completely satisfied! Oo.

Second, after finishing up with the clutch Friday night member Wade Patton helped me install my new PDR 370 injectors that I got on sale last month! :D About these injectors..... MAN! these things are SO MUCH better than the Marine 300's I had! Immediately after install Friday night I took the truck for a drive and it seemed almost effortless to get to 3K RPMS in 2nd & 3rd gears. These injectors also cruise at a lower EGT than my 300's, and they smoke less than my 300's (dunno whether to be :D or :{ about that :-laf ) Bottom line I LOVE these injectors they are absolutely awsome! Oo. Oo.

Lastly I threw my old #10 plate back in this morning before heading over to meet up with Wade. I installed it a little less than centered because I figured EGT's would be kinda toasty. Well went for a ride right after I got the plate in, and I couldn't crack 1200* pre-turbo!! So drove over to meet Wade, hang out & BS, ended up sliding my #10 full forward while BS'n too! On the initial drive I couldn't really get the EGT's into the "Danger Zone until about the mid/top of 4th gear. Coming home it was odvious that I can run the plate full forward without much worrying unless I have to hook to a heavy trailer here soon which I doubt will happen. I do however plan on sending my turbo off to be hybrided here real soon!

So there's my weekend full of BOMBing what about yours? LoL

Remember when you were looking at the 300's before you bought them, told you would would like the 370's better... ..... also you can make 660 HP with those injectors..... I did!

On the #10 plate about . 060 forward from stock is optimal, if you go farther than that you will loose power... ... proved that one on the dyno..... play with it a little! Your at fun HP now... . stay there!

So, we CAN call you "Had Smoke" :-laf

and later...

So are you saying your turbo is stock? I'm just wonderin how mine'd react with 370's.

How well do you think it would tow now? Would it run too hot?

Thanks now you got me wishing I had just bought the darn things. :{

I had the exact same setup Mark is running on my 97. With the stock turbo as well. 405RWHP on the dyno in the middle of July.

Things got hot on mine at the top end of 3rd gear. Any considerable towing was pretty much out of the question. Little stuff(3000# or less) wasn't a problem. I did pull a pretty heavy trailer(6000#) once, wasn't too bad, but you could stay in it very long without things getting warm.

It would just flat MOVE though. I saw a little over 3700 RPM's one time coming out of 2nd.

Yep Turbo is bare bone stock, and I CANNOT bury the pyro till 4th gear, and it has to be on the floor to bury it then! I can't believe how its running! It doesn't seem as snappy as last year when I had my #10 and 300's, but it will still flat out MOVE. Oo.

I don't know how the turbo would handle towing HEAVY, and I can't really give you a good idea because my buddy got rid of his 25ft tandem axle dual tire goose. :{ However I'm willing to bet that with hybriding and changing the exhaust housing that Towing would be reasonable, if not there is reverse adjustment in the plate! :-laf

Thanks GS! I'm several steps behind ya, but on the same path. I have this truck for trailer towing reasons, but have got the bug ya know. :D

I will do the 370's when I get the time and $$, the problem is that it will have to include a clutch, turbo work and exhaust.

Like I said the "plate has adjustment" get you some 370's, straight pipe it and be Oo. :-laf

got smoke - that's great that your egts are that good with the stock turbo, but how much boost are you running aproximately? im going to be running that same set up soon. right now i have the #8 plate all the way forward but from what i hear the 10 is much smoother and is better to run with the 3gsk which i have. right now im waiting on funds for the ATS stage IV, once i get that the bombing bug will bite me several times! would like to get the pdr hx40 soon after i get the transmission so i can increase fueling and not melt my engine. just curious how much boost you stock turbo is seeing!

Well on the good long hard runs that actually get the EGT's up there, approx. 35-40psi. Driving everyday the turbo is anywhere from 8-to-20 psi depending on the condition (flat, hill, etc. ) and it sees a couple of 30psi blasts a day.

I'm going to be send it off here soon to High Tech Turbo to have it hybrided with a HX40 compressor housing and 60mm HX40 compressor wheel, and I'll be running a 16cm non-wg'd housing at first to see how I like it. I'll let you know
