Going to install a South Bend Clutch soon, and need to know what specialty tools I need to locate. As well as fluids or grease.

Heres what I can think of:

1. Long Extension for transmission bolts on top. (3/8" or 1/2" drive?)

2. Universal joints for Top transmission bolts. (3/8" or 1/2" drive?)

3. Transfer Case Fluid? Its time to swith over to synthetic it think.

4. transmission Fluid? Not sure?

5. Lithium Grease for Input Shaft.

6. Torque Wrench

7. Sockets

8. transmission Jack

9. Jack stands to get the vehicle in the air a little more, or is this a bad idea.

10. Bottle Jack for front of motor

Anyone see anything I missed, or I can eliminate? Any tips or tricks to share. Thanks fo any help.

Two friends to help so you don't get hurt.

At least one, even if its a kid as long as he knows how to dial 911.

I do things by myself and think later, what if I ???

Since it sounds like you'll be doing this on the ground... SERIOUSLY consider the practicality of that decision. The 6-speed is a BIG and HEAVY transmission (370 lbs dry weight), and is even heavier with the t-case installed. I have pulled a few of them at the shop, and even with a lift and a heavy duty trans jack, it is a *****. Over 500 lbs with the t-case on there. Have plenty of help, and a phone cloe by incase something goes awry.
