2nd Gen Non-Engine/Transmission Gauge problem

Do you guys have any tips on installing a clutch? What is the best way to line up the splines on the hub and the transmission after you remove the alignment tool? From what I understand, the oilite bronze bushing completely replaces the pilot bearing, correct? Is this bushing a press fit or do you have to use an adhesive?

TIA,

Dan

I eyeball the gap between bellhousing and engine to make sure it is roughly equal all the way around. Put your transfer case in 4-hi. Then, with the input shaft splines touching the splines on the clutch disc, have a helper turn or try to turn the front driveshaft hub on the transfer case(this will, of course, rotate the transmission input shaft). Gently apply pressure on the rear of the transmission with your feet while your helper is rotating the transfer case hub. When the splines are engaged, your helper should announce that he can no longer rotate the hub. You should then be able to push the transmission forward until it contacts the engine and bolt them together. Worked for me.
