I'm going to be installing my new SBC this evening and was curious if any of you that have done this before have any advice to pass along.

I plan to get the truck apart tonight after work, take the flywheel in tomorrow morning and get it turned and then put the truck back together tomorrow.

Once I get the clutch upgraded it's gona be power time! :D

Thanks,

Mike

I have done two NV-5600 clutch jobs. The transfer case was left attached to the transmission in both cases. This makes for a very heavy, long, awkward unit that is simply too much for a transmission jack adapter. If possible, use a good transmission jack. It will make the job much easier and safer.

Before disconnecting your transfer case linkage, shift it into 4 wheel high. This will allow you to align the clutch splines with the input shaft when you go back together with everything. This is done by slowly turning the transfer case front drive output flange while someone is pushing the transmission forward. When the splines are aligned, the transmission will slide all the way up to the engine. Take your time and good luck.
