I know this has been covered before. But since the search is out, I'll ask it.

I am getting a clutch for my truck. Its a Sachs. I've never done a clutch install on my truck before. Are there any tips or tricks that I should know about.

Do I need a clutch allingment tool?

I am getting a new pilot bearing, any suggestions? I am between Mitchell's roller and SBC's kevlar.

Also, if anybody is board next week, and wants to drop by and partake in a few 12oz bottles of inspiration, holler at me. I'll be doing this in a friends 2 car garage.

Also, torque specs for the clutch, bell housing, crossmember, and what ever else might fall of would be great.

You definitely need a alignment tool for the clutch. Peter at South bend recomended the needle roller type bearing over the Kevlar on a 2nd gen unless you have a damaged input shaft bearing or shaft damage.

Mitchells true roller bearing needs machine work. Are you talking about the needle bearing?

Don't forget the throw out bearing.

MDW,

I TOLD HIM!!!

Hey, will his flywheel work with that clutch? I can't remember.

Yea, I believe the flywheel is fine, Gene, and I just wanna talk to him about the install.

It doesnt matter to me what clutch he bought, he$$ I'm getting ready to install another Sachs myself but the install is not typical and I can help with some tips.
